Hammond Industrial by Conwest is being developed on private fee simple land, which grants Conwest full ownership and the right to develop the property within the framework of municipal, provincial and federal regulations.
Understanding the cultural significance of this land to the Katzie First Nation, Conwest has engaged in meaningful engagement with the Katzie to ensure that their heritage is protected throughout the development process using best practices. The Government of British Columbia has also engaged in ongoing and meaningful consultation with all affected First Nations, including the Katzie First Nation. Conwest’s approach balances legal rights with appreciation and respect for the cultural significance of the land.
Conwest has demonstrated a commitment to meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements and best practices in the Hammond Industrial development. From comprehensive environmental geotechnical and site assessment to best-in-class archaeological evaluations and protections, every step of the project has been conducted with a commitment to regulatory and best practice requirements.
